Accident Insurance
Accident medical plans are an attractive option because they are affordable and can be used as a supplement to health insurance policies. The primary purpose of an accident plan is to reduce the risks of high deductible plans. Rather than pay out-of-pocket for medical care up to a deductible, accident plans make the costs of medical care manageable. Although they can be purchased without owning a regular health insurance policy, we do not recommend this.
These policies have a much broader scope of coverage than auto insurance; external causes of injury away from the car are covered too!
Most accident plans do not require medical underwriting; they are guaranteed issue to all applicants between the ages of 18 and 64. They have a 30 day waiting period before accidents are covered.

Our recommended Accident Plan, the “Protector Plus”, includes some additional features at no additional cost. This includes a prescription discount plan and a small accidental disability plan which pays $400 per month to the primary insured if they are disabled from an accident.
